A Study on the Eruption Time of the Korean Permanet Teeth

Abstract
|
|
|
For the evaluation of the normal eruption time of the Korean permanent teeth, the author performed oral examination about 30,000 children and selected 2645 teeth (Male 1540, Female 1105) just projecting through the gingiva. The results obtained were as follows.
1. The average ages (year, month, day) for eruption of the permanent teeth were as follows. ( MeanS. D. )

Upper first premolar 10, 9, 91, 0, 25

2. The eruption order of the permanent teeth was as follows.
1st Lower first molar
2nd Upper first molar
3rd Lower central incisor
4th Upper central incisor, lower lateral incisor
5th Upper lateral incisor
6th Lower canine
7th Upper canine, lower first premolar, upper first premolar
8th Upper second premolar
9th Lower Second premolar
10th Lower second molar
11th Upper second molar
3. Most of the permanent teeth were considered as erupted between 6 and 12 years after birth, and the author could classify this period as following three sections.
During the two years of the first section, the first molar and the incisors were erupted, the second section was no eruption period and during the two years of the last section, the other teeth except third molar were erupted.
4. The eruption of the permanent teeth in female was about 4 months earlier than male. 5 Except the case of the second premolar, the eruption of the lower permanent teeth was earlier than the upper opposing teeth.
